Etchu Tabe signs 2-Year Contract

MLF Sports announced Friday that Etchu Tabe, a former Baldwin High School student, has signed a two-year contract with Swedish Premiership club Ljungskile SK and is leaving the United States for Sweden.

“The opportunity to play with Ljungskile SK is an honor and I am ready for the challenge,” Tabe said. “I am looking forward to meeting my team mates, starting training and settling in to my new home.”

LjungskileSK was formed in 1926, and the club now competes in the Allsvenskandivision, Sweden’s highest division. After playing their preseason matches, the club’s first regular season match is set for March 31 against Hammarby IF.

Tabe, a 6-foot-4 striker born in Cameroon, moved with his family tothe United States at age 14. After moving from Buea, Cameroon to Milledgville, Tabe attended Baldwin High School, Brewton-Parker College and Georgia Southwestern. The Tabe family is no stranger to the world of professional football/soccer evidenced by the professional career of Etchu’s father in Cameroon.

Heather MacKenzie, of MLF Sports, set up trials in Europe for the gifted forward.

“Etchu has tremendous potential and I am confident of his ability to make an immediate impact for Ljungskile SK,” MacKenzie said.

Ljungskile’s Coach David Wilson, former Manchester United player, was impressed with Tabe’s skills and is ready to have him with the team for preseason training. Tabe is known for his athletic ability, creative style of play and his ability to finish.
